WHAT
Part 1 PREPARATION ACTIVITIES and RESOURCES
- A brief 5 Step “Getting Started” video will get classes on the map
- A wealth of information, instructional videos, and resources for teachers are provided on the Kids’ Guide website
- Student activities and resources on 3 themes are provided:

- 1 Digital citizenship and safety
- 2 Cross-Cultural Communications
- 3 #KidsMatter

Part 2 CREATING A KIDS’ GUIDE CONTENT (content is public)
- Students inquire into the land and people of their community around their home school
- Students create introductions using hand-made or digital tools of their choice, and in a language of their choice
- Teachers post student artifacts on AKGTCanada website (not students)
Part 3 CROSS-CANADA CLASS CONNECTIONS (take place in private)
- Teachers use the Digital Human Library to find AKGTC teachers and classes from across Canada
- Teachers connect classes for inter-cultural conversations and deeper learning
- Connections use a variety of methods: phone, snail mail, parcel post, email, radio, audio and video recordings, video conferencing
