ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

This week, we’ve selected ONE class from all of the classes who have uploaded artifacts to the Kids’ Guide to Canada interactive map to be our third Great Canadian Mystery Challenge location.

Please note that the mystery class choices are restricted to classes which have uploaded artifacts to the Kids’ Guide to Canada map.

Using the 5 clues provided on our website and on social media, your students’ challenge is to discover the mystery class location without extra teacher assistance!

When your students have come up with their FINAL ANSWER, please email it to akgtcanada@gmail.com . Only email submissions will be accepted. Please note that if you submit multiple guesses, only the first answer will be accepted.

All classes identifying the location correctly will be listed on our website below, and the FIRST class in each division (Pr–Jr–Int) to submit the correct answer will be given bragging rights for being the TOP AKGTC SLEUTHS for SEPTEMBER and a brand new e-badge stating just that!

Day 1 This class is located WEST of our nation’s capital city, and EAST of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 2 The mystery class for January is located in one of Canada’s Prairie provinces.
Day 3 Students in this class live in a province which contains the Rocky Mountains.
Day 4 Students in this class can travel less than 30 km to see the Calgary Stampede.
Day 5 This school named all of their house teams after local birds: the Hawks, Condors, Ospreys, Falcons, and Owls.

Jour 1 Cette class est située à l’OUEST de la capitale du Canada et à l’EST de l’océan Pacifique.
Jour 2 La class mystère de janvier est située dans l’une des provinces des Prairies canadiennes.
Jour 3 Les élèves de cette classe vivent dans une province qui contient les Rocheuses.
Jour 4 Les élèves de cette classe parcourent moins de 30 kilomètres pour aller au Stampede de Calgary.
Jour 5 Cette école a nommé toutes ses équipes sportives d’après les oiseaux: les faucons, les condors, les balbuzards, et les hiboux.

Day 3 The first Boston Pizza in Canada was opened in this province.
Day 4 This school is located in a place where the is less than 52 degrees north.
Day 5 Students in this class are lucky enough to enjoy beach days at a lake in their own neighbourhood.

Jour 5 Les élèves de cette classe ont la chance de profiter des plages/d’une plage au bord d’un lac dans leur propre quartier.
