Activity Description:     

Are you and your students doing anything to observe and/or celebrate Canada’s 150 years as a modern nation?

.

At the same time, how are you recognizing and addressing the historic injustices imposed on the Indigenous people who were here before Canada was “born”?

How can we honour both?

.

This week, we’re inviting your students to share WHAT and HOW they are celebrating in your community this year – whether you’re celebrating Canada’s 150^th birthday, or celebrating the culture, achievements, and contributions of the First Nation, Metis, and Inuit people, or both.
